Tyisha is a young lady who suffers far too much at an early age. Her color, her place of birth, the unseemly acts of her grandfather and the rejection of others cause her to see little hope in the future. As a young teacher in training, she learns her supervising teacher has suffered as well and has not been hardened by the experience. She tells Tyisha about a God who loves her and wants to make her whole and Tyisha is changed by the salvation of this God who gave His life for her. Along the way, she discovers other truths such as prejudice is not geographic, that God has chosen our mates before the foundation of the world was laid, and He can form us into what He wants us to be. No matter the circumstance, there is always HOPE.
Brent Garzelli was born a poor boy on a cattle farm in southern Missouri. He did not see much hope for the future of farming, so he excelled in high school, college, and seminary. Some of the story of Tyisha is his story-especially the change the Lord made in her life is reflective of the change made in his own. He has been an ordained minister since 1979 and sees writing books as his ministry now.
Cheryl Garzelli was born on the headwaters of the Rio Grande River in southern Colorado. She is the daughter of a former Warrant Officer in the United States Army and had no particular faith in God as a child. Her life of faith is a miracle and is the pattern used to show the transition in Tyisha’s life from one of hopelessness to one of seeking and doing the will of God. Brent and Cheryl have been married for over 47 years.
