‘Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep’ by Michael D. Gatson Examines the Extremes of Trauma and Its Effects on People
An insightful glimpse at human ordeals
In the first book of his Dr. Doobie series, Michael D. Gatson tells readers how trauma affects the families of the people who go through it.
‘Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep’ brilliantly illustrates how Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder manifests and how it may have a lasting impact on the lives of military men, veterans, and their families. In it, you’ll learn how to cope with a person suffering from PTSD, including information on their specific triggers, avoidance tendencies, and safety precautions.
“My goal is to impart hope, reassure a parent’s love, and educate individuals about the importance of taking care of one’s mental health,” says Gatson. “Mental illness is something that is real, and it is something we do not talk about enough in our communities, families, and relationships.”
With its age-appropriate resource, ‘Now I Lay Me Down To Down’ will help readers’ families talk about their experiences with mental illness openly and honestly.
Remove the stigma of seeking help through therapy with ‘Now I Lay Me Down To Down,’ which is available for purchase in paperback and e-book formats.
